I was recently drawn to a detail about the event that I hadn’t seen many discuss yet. As we reflect on Samantha's actions that morning, it's striking to consider her bravery and dedication to safeguarding her family's business. Going out alone before dawn, she clearly had a strong sense of responsibility and determination. Visiting a potentially dangerous scene all by herself speaks volumes about her character and what she must have felt in that moment—protective of her livelihood and those she cared about. I can't imagine the level of courage it took for her to confront the situation head-on without hesitation. It’s so tragic that in a moment meant to preserve, her life was cut short. I really hope we can remember those qualities of Samantha as the community continues to rally around her family.
