I've been following the Lavell Scales case closely, and it's been incredibly tough to watch this unfold for his family and friends. Just thinking about the commotion and fear that night on East 117th Street gives me chills. It's a relief that the U.S. Marshals finally caught Verdine Glover, but I can't even begin to imagine the emotional rollercoaster for those who knew and loved Lavell. One aspect that's been on my mind is how quickly the first responders arrived that night. The coordination and speed in such a chaotic situation is commendable, but it just goes to show how critical these moments are. They must face the brunt of such tragedies frequently, yet each case, each person lost, is unique and significant. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this senseless act, hoping for some form of justice and peace as the legal process moves forward.
