I’ve been thinking a lot about Judy Lord's little son, Gregory. Finding him alone in the apartment must have been truly terrifying for the first responders. It's hard not to wonder about how this has impacted him as he grew up. He was so young at the time that he probably has no memory of what happened, but then again, growing up without a mother and with all the unanswered questions hanging over his head must have been incredibly difficult. I hope he's been surrounded by love and support throughout his life. Can anyone shed more light on how Gregory has been doing all these years? Does he have any involvement in seeking justice for his mom, or has he chosen to stay away from public light? My heart goes out to him and the rest of Judy's family.
I've been following Judy Lord's case for a while, and something that's always stuck with me is the setting of that night she was last seen. The community events at apartment complexes like Royal Gardens were supposed to be safe, communal spaces, right? It's hard to believe that she was just enjoying a game of volleyball, likely surrounded by neighbors and maybe even friends, only hours before her life was so senselessly taken.
It's so unsettling to think that someone she might have interacted with during those games could know something—or worse, be responsible. Given how close-knit communities can be, it’s baffling that there were seemingly no helpful witnesses or clues from people who were there that night. I can't help but feel for her son, Gregory, who thankfully was unharmed but had to grow up without his mother, and for the family she left behind, who have had to endure decades without answers.
The Cold Case Unit's dedication is encouraging, especially with how far forensic technology has come. I'm hopeful with enough public interest and the continued work by the investigators, maybe someday soon we'll see some progress in getting justice for Judy. Does anyone else have insights into how these types of community events might play into ongoing investigations?
