Does anyone understand the motive behind this? Was it money or a dispute of some kind?

I can't stop thinking about how someone as kindhearted as Gary could end up in such a tragic situation. I read somewhere that he frequently went out of his way to help people in need, offering shelter and food to those who had fallen on hard times. It makes the betrayal by a supposed long-time acquaintance even more difficult to understand. How could someone who knew him for decades commit such an act? It's chilling to think that people you try to help could turn on you so violently. My thoughts are with Gary's family and everyone he touched with his generosity. Let's hope justice is served swiftly and thoroughly.
Has anyone else been moved by the way the community has rallied around Gary Franke's memory? It's been touching to see the neighborhood unite in tribute to his legacy. I’ve been following the case and amidst all the tragedy, it’s heartening to know Franke’s life of giving hasn’t been overshadowed by his tragic end. The community events and tributes have really shown what kind of person he was and how deeply he touched people's lives. I can only imagine how tough this is for his family, but I hope they find some comfort in knowing how widely and fondly he is remembered. If anyone has information on upcoming memorial events, please share—I think it’s important to continue supporting them however we can.
