I've been following the case of Janaysia Lewis and wanted to share a thought that’s been on my mind. It's truly unsettling to know that this all unfolded so close to an elementary school. I can't even begin to imagine how the parents in that community feel, knowing that their kids might have been in the vicinity during such a terrifying incident. It brings up a lot of questions about safety and security in residential areas that also house vulnerable populations like school children. Thinking of Janaysia's mom and all those affected. It must be incredibly difficult for them to process all of this while feeling such a tremendous loss. It's a tragic reminder of how quickly arguments can escalate to violence. Hoping for some peace and healing for everyone involved. Stay safe out there.

Has anyone else been following the community response to Janaysia’s tragic death? It’s been incredible to see the neighborhood come together, not only to support her family but also to advocate for safer streets and address the rising concerns about violence in the area. I’ve read about a few candlelight vigils held near Krumm Park. It’s touching to see so many people, even those who didn’t know her personally, show up to honor Janaysia and push for change. It just goes to show how deeply this has affected everyone. I hope the momentum continues and brings about some positive changes. Anyone here attended one of these gatherings or know more about how the community is organizing?
