I recently came across the case of Gregory G. LeFevre, known to many as "Dreg," and it's really stuck with me since. It's just so hard to grasp how such a warm-hearted person could become a victim in this way. I've been thinking a lot about how close-knit the Alton community is, and what it meant for them to lose someone so beloved. It's astounding and saddening that after all this time, there are still no solid leads. Knowing this small community, it’s hard to imagine that no one saw or heard anything that might help solve the case. My heart truly goes out to his family and friends, who’ve had to endure the weight of this unsolved mystery for more than three decades. I really hope that with continued efforts and advances in technology, they finally get some answers. If anyone has more details about the community back then, or how they might have been affected, please share. Every little bit helps.
Does anyone else find it strange how little information there seems to be on the physical evidence in Gregory LeFevre's case? It’s troubling that after all these years, we still don’t have much clarity on what kind of forensic evidence—if any—was collected back in 1988. It’s mentioned that the investigators keep hoping for advancements in forensic science to help them, which makes me wonder if they do have something that wasn’t usable back then. I can’t even imagine how difficult it must be for his family to live without answers for so long. I truly hope that whoever has any information will come forward to help bring justice for Gregory and peace for his loved ones. It's so hard to believe that in such a small town, someone could do this and still be walking free. Every cold case that gets solved gives me hope that one day it'll happen for Dreg's family too. ?️
Hey everyone,

I've been following the Gregory "Dreg" LeFevre case for a while now, and I can't help but feel for his family. It’s so unsettling that someone who was so cherished in his community could have his life taken in such a cruel way. I read somewhere that he was particularly close to his dog, which got me thinking—could there have been any signs or interactions his dog may have witnessed or reacted to around the time of the crime? It's well-known how perceptive animals can be. Plus, Alton being such a small town, there's a chance someone might’ve seen or heard something unusual in the days leading up to or following Dreg’s death.

I hope people keep coming forward with any bit of information, no matter how small it seems. With ongoing advances in forensic science, it feels like old evidence might one day reveal new truths. It's tough to imagine what his family must be enduring, but hopefully, one day soon, they’ll find the answers they deserve.
