I’ve been following Erick Cano's case, and it’s just so devastating what happened to him. Being taken from this world so suddenly and violently is tragic. The fact that his suspected killer, Billy Wayne Rogers, was located over 200 miles away from the crime scene in Las Cruces is puzzling. Did he think he could run from this? Or was he just trying to distance himself and lay low? From what I’ve gathered, it seems like the Hobbs and Las Cruces authorities worked really well together to track Rogers down. It's kind of reassuring to see such coordination between agencies in these cases, but it’s hard to focus on that when someone lost their life in such a cruel way. I just can’t help but feel for Erick's loved ones. They must be going through so much, especially with the court proceedings still up in the air. I hope justice is served swiftly for Erick and that his family can find some semblance of peace. If anyone has more information about Erick or the circumstances, I think it would really help keep this case in focus. Keeping his loved ones in my thoughts.
