I've been following the tragic case of Evangelina Velasquez and find myself thinking about how deeply it affects her friends and classmates at Foundation Academy Charter School. She was only 10 and described as having so much energy and fearlessness. It's heart-wrenching to consider what her peers must be going through right now. I can only imagine the shock and grief that ripples through a community when they lose someone so young and full of life. Her father, Bladimir Velasquez, has spoken so lovingly about her spirit. It's clear that Evangelina touched a lot of people's lives, and the school must be providing some support to help kids process everything. Losing a friend at such a young age can be incredibly confusing and painful. I hope the school has counselors in place for those who need someone to talk to. It's important to keep these kids supported while they navigate such a difficult time. My thoughts are with her family and all those who knew and loved Evangelina, as they take the first steps towards healing. ?

I've been thinking about Evangelina Velasquez and how deeply this tragedy must be affecting everyone who knew her. As a parent myself, I can't imagine the pain her father, Bladimir, is going through, not to mention her friends and classmates at Foundation Academy. From what I've gathered, she was such a bright and fearless little girl, full of energy. It's just so difficult to reconcile what happened with the image of a young life so full of potential. I also can't stop wondering about Fernando Mercado and why on earth this happened. You always hear about domestic situations taking a tragic turn, but it's still so shocking when it happens, especially when a child is involved. It's just unfathomable. If anyone is from the Trenton area, I'd love to hear more about how the community is supporting Evangelina's family. I saw that there's a fundraiser and memorials being set up. It’s important to remember her and to support those who are devastated by this loss. My thoughts are with them during this incredibly challenging time.

Has anyone else been following the vigil they held for Evangelina Velasquez at her school? I stumbled across some photos online and just couldn't hold back the tears. Seeing those little ones holding candles, sharing memories about their friend... it's just a reminder of how deeply her absence is felt. Her father and teachers described her as someone who lit up the room—which I think was clearly shown in how her classmates came together to remember her. It’s comforting, at least a little, to see the love and support from the community for Evangelina and her family. I just hope they find the strength to get through this unimaginable loss. Did anyone here attend the vigil or know more about any upcoming memorials?

I’ve been following the tragic story of Evangelina Velasquez and her family, and my heart goes out to all who knew them. As much as this case is a grim reminder of those hurt most by domestic violence, it’s also an opportunity for communities to rally around and support the families left behind. I read that Evangelina went to Foundation Academy Charter School and was described as someone full of energy and fearlessness by her father and those who knew her. It’s always so stunning how even in the darkest times, the light of a young soul like hers can be remembered through the words and actions of those left behind. I'm wondering if any local foundations or community organizations are stepping in to provide support services or resources to Evangelina’s father and the family. It's incredibly important for him and those grieving to feel supported as they navigate such a devastating loss. For those of you in the Trenton area, keep an eye out for how you might be able to volunteer or offer help. Does anyone know if the school is doing anything in her memory, like a memorial scholarship or something? It might give folks a sense of purpose to contribute positively in such a heartbreaking time. Keeping Evangelina and her family in my thoughts.
