Hey everyone, This case out of Albuquerque about the tragic deaths of Jesus Valdez and Richard Newman really caught my attention, especially given the circumstances surrounding the confrontation. What's been puzzling me is the suspect's claim that he was "scared for his life." It's really hard to understand how retrieving an oil filter and a couple of containers of oil could escalate to such violence. The sheriff's office said the employees didn't have any weapons, which makes it difficult to see how the suspect could genuinely feel that threatened. Does anyone else have thoughts on what might have been going through his mind? This whole situation is just devastating, and it's hard to not feel for the friends and families of those who lost their lives in such a senseless act. I hope justice is served so they can find some peace. - C.
