It's so deeply saddening to read about Jose Williams and the senseless loss of his life that day in St. Louis. What really gets to me is the location—Kingsway East. It’s one of those neighborhoods where so many people know each other, and to think a normal morning could turn into something so tragic is chilling. I'm really struck by how quickly things seemed to spiral out of control. Gathered on a street corner, likely just going about their morning, and then suddenly, emotions run high, and someone has a gun in their hand. It’s so unnerving to think a place you're familiar with can become the scene of such violence in the blink of an eye. My thoughts are with Jose's family and friends who have to navigate this unimaginable reality. It's a grim reminder of the volatility of emotions and how important it is to find peaceful resolutions to conflicts. May there be justice for Jose, and may his memory encourage those left behind to foster more compassion and understanding in that community. Sending my thoughts and prayers to everyone affected.
