Has anyone else been thinking about the role this weekend party played in Jordan Mitchell's tragic death? It’s so disheartening to hear about these gatherings ending in violence. It's supposed to be a time for young people to enjoy themselves, not fear for their lives. I've been trying to piece together how things escalated so badly that night. It's hard to imagine how quickly a night of fun could turn into such a nightmare, and it makes me think about the environment young people are in these days. I didn't know Jordan personally, but being from a small town like Starkville, it hits close to home. Everybody knows everybody, or at least knows of them. My thoughts are with his friends and family, and with the friends of Kaiden Evans too. The community really seems to be rallying together, but it's just so devastating knowing that events like this cause ripples of pain and loss that can’t ever truly be healed. I'm curious if there have been any discussions about increasing security measures at future gatherings or if this is something that's been happening under the radar. The authorities need to sort this out, but it feels like there's a bigger conversation we need to have about safety and conflict resolution too. Sending love and strength to all those mourning these losses.
