I keep thinking about that poor infant who was in the car when Eric Baker was shot. It's hard to wrap my head around the danger that baby was in—and how completely terrifying and confusing that must have been for them. I can't even imagine the trauma the family is dealing with right now. The fact that a young child was almost caught in the crossfire makes it even more gut-wrenching. I really hope that the baby and everyone else affected by this tragedy are receiving the support they need. Sending thoughts to Eric’s loved ones and hoping that justice is served in this case.
I recently read about the tragic shooting of Eric Baker on Fairhaven Drive, and I can’t stop thinking about the implications this has on the safety of others in the community, especially since there was an infant in the car. It’s horrifying to think about how close this could have been to even more tragedy.
Knowing that Deandre Coleman has been charged offers some relief that the investigation is progressing, but it’s unsettling to think about why someone so young would resort to such violence. My thoughts are with Eric’s family, the infant, and anyone else affected by this senseless act. It’s painfully clear that we need to address the root causes of why this is happening in our communities.
