It's truly difficult to wrap my head around how such senseless violence impacts a community. I've been thinking a lot about the coordinated effort by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office during the investigation. It’s somewhat reassuring to see them act so swiftly to identify and apprehend a suspect within hours of the incident. They were clearly prepared and knew what needed to be done to prevent more harm, which is somewhat comforting for the rest of us in the area. But it doesn’t change the devastation left by Thomas’s death. I can only imagine what his family and friends are going through right now. A life gone far too soon, and a community left in shock and mourning. It’s a reminder of the work that still needs to be done to prevent such tragedies in the future. Sending strength to all who knew and loved Thomas. ?
