I've been thinking a lot about how the community has come together in response to Rylee's tragic death. It's really moving to see neighbors, local leaders, and even people from outside Detroit rallying for change. So many times, these kinds of tragedies just slip away from the headlines, but it feels like this case has ignited a kind of shared determination that could lead to real change. From the vigils to the meetings calling for safer streets, it seems like people are really committed to making sure Rylee's death wasn't in vain. I can't imagine the grief Rylee's family is experiencing, but it must offer them some small comfort to see the love and support from so many people who never even met him. While we all want to see justice served in court, I hope this momentum leads to genuine improvements in the community. Detroit's children deserve more, and it's high time we all face these issues head-on.
