I can't stop thinking about the neighborhood where Keion Johnson was killed. I've walked down North 13th Street many times, and it's hard to picture such violence taking place there. This area, especially between Convention and Florida Streets, is usually busy with people going about their day. It's unsettling to think that someone could be taken away from us in an instant, right in a place where so many of us live and work.
The lack of information about the motive or potential suspects is frustrating. I hope the community will step up and deliver any piece of information, no matter how small, to help the police solve this case. It's important for Keion's family to find some semblance of peace and for the community to feel safe again. Sending strength and love to all who knew him—Keion deserved so much more than this. Let's hope for justice soon.
Did anyone else catch the press conference where Keion's family spoke? It was so powerful to hear them talk about him and how much he meant to everyone who knew him. It's really striking that there's still no motive, suspect, or anything. With this being downtown, you'd think there might be more cameras or witnesses to help piece things together. Maybe someone walking from an event or a local worker saw something that could help the investigation?
I saw a post suggesting people should check any security footage they might have if they’re in the area, even if it seems unrelated. It’s a long shot, but it’s the small clues that sometimes lead to big breaks in cases like this. Just something to consider if you’re in Baton Rouge or know someone who might be. Keion’s family deserves answers.
