I've been following the Flint 8-1-0 Day tragedy, and my heart goes out to Jayla Keel's family and friends. I can't stop thinking about what an incredible person she seems to have been—a young woman with such a bright future. What's really been on my mind lately is the community's response. The outpouring of tributes and memories shared by those who knew Jayla paints a vivid picture of someone who genuinely touched the lives around her. Isn't it amazing how, even in such a dark time, the love people express can shine through so brightly? I also wonder how everyone else at the event is coping. It must be haunting to have witnessed such a violent act in the midst of what should have been a joyful celebration. I hope the attendees, too, get the support they need to process what happened. It's so important for us to continue discussing Jayla's legacy and to work together to ensure that this doesn't become just another statistic. I hope her story stays in the public eye and serves as a catalyst for change in our community.
