Did anyone else catch the mention of the electronic home monitoring in court? The fact that Alvarado was able to slip through the cracks with his GPS monitor sounds alarmingly negligent. Just thinking about how Moises Juarez's life might have been spared if those violations had been responded to more swiftly makes my heart ache for his family. I can't help but wonder how many other missed violations could have prevented tragedies like this. It’s really unsettling that someone supposedly monitored could still manage to be on the streets with lethal intentions. I hope the system takes a hard look at these failures to prevent more senseless violence. My thoughts are truly with Moises’s loved ones right now—they deserve so much better.
I’ve been following this tragic case, and something that really stands out to me is how Moises Juarez was just innocently walking in his own neighborhood when this senseless act stole his life. It’s deeply upsetting to see such violence targeting someone who seemed to be minding his own business. I can’t imagine the pain this has caused his family and friends in Little Village. It also makes me wonder why the system failed to keep Alvarado from violating his curfew while on house arrest. How was he able to roam free despite having a GPS monitor? It seems like there were so many missed opportunities to prevent this tragedy. My heart goes out to Moises' loved ones, who will forever have a piece missing from their lives. Hoping for a swift and just resolution to this painful chapter.
