Has anyone else been thinking about the role of emergency protective orders in this tragic situation? It’s so sad that Heaven Glisson tried to protect herself and her child by seeking an emergency protective order back in April. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for her to navigate the system, especially when she was trying to escape such a controlling and volatile environment. It's incredibly frustrating that even after Heaven called 911 just days before the incident, there seemed to be no immediate solution to ensure her safety. This case just breaks my heart for her family and friends. It makes me wonder if there were any missed opportunities for intervention. Why is it that sometimes despite clear indicators of danger, victims are left vulnerable? Heaven was clearly trying everything in her power to protect herself and her baby, and yet the system failed her. I hope this case leads to some serious discussions about how we can better support and protect those in similar situations. My thoughts are with her loved ones. ?

I've been following this case closely, and something that's been bothering me is how the system seems to have failed Heaven Glisson. It's just so tragic to think that she had already sought an emergency protective order earlier this year. It makes you wonder, could more have been done to protect her? I read that just two days before the tragedy, she had called 911 about Bryant forcing his way into her apartment. Yet, the officers said they didn't have grounds to arrest him. I can't imagine how terrifying that must have been for her. It's frustrating to see repeated patterns in these situations where warning signs are present, but nothing substantial is done until it’s too late. My heart goes out to Heaven’s family and her little one, who will grow up without a mother. I hope the community and authorities truly learn from this and find ways to prevent such a situation from happening again. Heaven deserved to feel safe and protected, just like anyone else.
