I've been following the tragic case of Deputy Sheriff Elijah Ming, and I can't stop thinking about the bravery it must take to do what our law enforcement officers do every day. That moment on South 30th Street, when Deputy Ming approached knowing there was a potential threat, shows the kind of dedication he had to his duty and community. It’s devastating to lose such a committed officer and I can only imagine the pain his family, friends, and colleagues are experiencing. Sending strength to everyone who knew him, and hoping that the community can continue to support one another as they mourn this loss. His legacy of courage and service is something that won’t be forgotten.
