Was anyone else deeply affected by the vigil held for Kewaun Clark this past weekend? Though I only knew him through what’s been shared here and in the news, watching the community come together was truly moving. So many people showed up to pay their respects, sharing stories and memories, despite the rain. It was a testament to how much he meant to those who knew him. The candles, the flowers, and everyone holding hands in silence made it abundantly clear how much of a hole his loss has left in the lives of his friends and family. I read about someone saying he was a kind-hearted person who always made others laugh. It's devastating to think a life that brought so much joy was ended so abruptly. I sincerely hope his family finds some comfort surrounded by community support. Moments like these remind us all how crucial it is to support one another. If anyone here attended or knows how his family is holding up, please share if you feel comfortable.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of security cameras in that area around South Archer Avenue? It seems like, in this day and age, you’d expect there to be some kind of surveillance close to a motel, especially in a major city like Chicago. I’m hoping it’s just a matter of time before police locate some footage that might shed light on what happened to Kewaun Clark. It’s really troubling to think that someone could just walk up, commit such a violent act, and disappear without a trace. I can’t imagine what his family is going through, waiting for answers. Have any locals heard anything more about the investigation from community meetings or news updates? It’s hard to sit with the not knowing.
