Has anyone else been following the aspect of the gate code access in the Deluca-Kaye case? I'm really curious about how the friend had the code and whether it was typical for the couple to share it with others. It seems significant given that there were no signs of forced entry, yet the crime is described as a burglary gone wrong rather than a planned attack. It just makes me wonder about the dynamics around their privacy and security measures.
Another thing that intrigues me is the choice of weapon; using a firearm from their own home suggests the perpetrator might have entered without the intention to kill initially. I keep thinking how terrifying it would be for anyone to be confronted like that in their own home, especially when it's supposed to be a safe space. My thoughts are with the friends and family dealing with such a cruel loss, and I hope they find strength as the case progresses through the courts.
