It's truly difficult to wrap my head around what happened with Elizabeth Cui Domingo and her daughter, Melissa. It's chilling to think it all unfolded in a place as mundane as a Best Buy parking lot, during something as routine as a custody exchange. My heart goes out to their family, especially that poor child who had to witness such a traumatic event. It's disturbing that this happened just days after Melissa was deemed to have acted in lawful self-defense in a prior incident involving Hajir Talebzadeh. It makes you question the effectiveness of the justice system in protecting victims of domestic abuse. How is it that someone with such a history of alleged abuse and a prior shooting incident still had the opportunity to commit such a terrible act? I hope the little boy is getting the support he needs from his family and professionals. He’s going to need a lot of love and care to navigate the aftermath of such a tragedy. If there's any good to come from this, it's that maybe we can push for stronger protections for those who find themselves in similar volatile situations.

Hi everyone,
I'm finding it difficult to process the recent news about Elizabeth and Melissa Domingo's tragic deaths. I've been following the case closely, and there's one aspect I can't wrap my head around: how this all played out in front of their 5-year-old grandchild.
Imagine the trauma this little one now carries from witnessing such violence firsthand, especially involving the people he loved and relied on. It's unbearable to think about the long-term impact on him, especially at such a tender age. Is there anyone here familiar with how situations like this are typically handled for young witnesses? Are there specific support systems in place to help them heal from such a horrific event?
Sending strength to everyone touched by this devastating loss, especially to the little boy now in the care of everything that comes next. My heart goes out to him and the whole Domingo family.
