I can't stop thinking about the community that Devaughn “Deezo” Wright Pita was a part of in Wahiawa. It's tragic to see such violence happen in a place where people are supposed to feel safe and protected. I keep wondering about the protocols in these military housing areas and if there's anything more that could have been done to prevent something like this from happening. It's understandable that incidents can sometimes occur anywhere, but when it happens in an area with such controlled access, it raises so many questions. My heart goes out to Devaughn's family and friends; I hope they're getting the support they need during this incredibly difficult time. It's important for the community to come together and reflect on how to prevent these incidents in the future.
