It's truly unsettling to think about that night in West Oakland. I can't get over the chilling coincidence of the attempted break-in happening so close to where Jermil was shot. It makes me wonder—could he have stumbled upon something he shouldn't have? Or was it all just awful timing? It's such a haunting thought that someone would risk breaking into a place in those pre-dawn hours and that it might somehow tie into Jermil's tragic fate.
If only there were more cameras in that area or someone who could come forward with information. It's agonizing to think of his family waiting for answers, and I can only hope that anyone who knows something will step up. Let’s keep pushing for justice for Jermil and keep the conversation going. Every little detail could make a difference.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking about the unique challenges that come with investigating crimes in a neighborhood like West Oakland. It’s an area where alleys and back entrances provide plenty of places for someone to slip away unseen, particularly in the early morning hours. In the case of Jermil Kevin Lamar Lewis, I wonder if this maze-like environment might have played a major role in how events unfolded.
Considering the proximity of that ladder and those burglary tools, it seems plausible that whoever was involved may have known the area well enough to navigate it quickly, eluding immediate capture. I imagine that makes it extremely tough for the investigators trying to reconstruct the series of events that led to Jermil's tragic death.
I hope locals continue to support the investigation by providing any information they might have, even if it seems small or insignificant. Sometimes those tiny details can piece together a much bigger picture. My thoughts are with Jermil's family and friends as they search for answers and justice.
I’ve been following this case closely, and something that keeps standing out to me is the role of the ShotSpotter alerts. It’s chilling to think how they captured the moments leading up to Jermil’s tragic death. This technology is intended to provide real-time responses, but the gap between detection and help arriving is frustrating. While it’s great that these alerts can pinpoint gunfire locations, it just makes you wonder, had there been an even quicker response, could things have turned out differently? I can’t imagine what his loved ones must be feeling right now. All we can do is hope for justice and that the community comes together to find answers soon. Rest in peace, Jermil.
