I was thinking about the tragic case of Jamar Hickman again today, and it’s reminded me of how much the community felt his loss. It’s just so unsettling how we still don’t have clear answers even after all these years. I remember reading about how his friends and family described him as a vibrant young man with so much potential. It’s just really frustrating that the senseless violence took someone who clearly had an impact on those around him. I think it’s important we continue discussing cases like Jamar’s, not just for justice but also to keep the conversation on reducing gun violence alive.
