I keep thinking about the impact this must be having on Merlin Ortiz's family and friends. It's like their world was turned upside down in the span of a few minutes. The randomness and suddenness of these acts are just so cruel. I can only imagine the heartache they’re facing, especially with no suspects named so far. Pueblo is really on edge lately with this being the eighth homicide this year. It must be so frustrating to have so many questions and so few answers. I read that investigators are analyzing footage from a camera in the area. I hope it provides some crucial leads. It’s a reminder of how much technology has changed the way these cases are handled, but also of the community's role in bringing those responsible to justice. If anyone has information, however small it might seem, I hope they come forward. The community needs closure, and Merlin Ortiz's family deserves justice.
