Hey everyone, I’ve been puzzling over Roger Day’s disappearance from 1973, and something that caught my attention was the fact that he decided to skip school for the Fryeburg Fair. I feel like a lot of people these days don’t realize how huge of a deal that fair was—and still is—for the locals. Being a teen, Roger might have really been excited and drawn to the fair, given it’s such a community event. What’s really intriguing to me is whether anyone might have seen a boy matching his description on the way to or at the fairgrounds. It was a bustling place, especially in the ‘70s. I'm curious if this angle had been explored in-depth back then. Could he have met someone there who might have led him astray? Plus, considering how packed and hectic it gets, I wonder if it was easier back then for someone to slip away unnoticed, maybe even getting a ride with a stranger. If anyone here knows locals from that time or has heard anything over the years, even if just bits of old gossip, it might shed some light. I’m just thinking out loud here, but every little detail might be crucial. Thoughts?

Has anyone else looked into statements from people who attended the Fryeburg Fair in 1973? I was reading old newspaper clippings, and it seems like it was quite a busy event with thousands of attendees. It makes me wonder if someone there might have seen Roger or noticed anything unusual that day. I know it’s been a long time, but there were so many people at the fair, and maybe someone’s memory could be sparked by sharing details from the day. Have any flyers or updated images of Roger as an adult ever been distributed at the fair in recent years to jog people’s memories? I feel like this could be a possible way to uncover new information, even after all these years. Thoughts?
