I’ve been diving into the tragic events that happened to Melanie Wells, and one thing that's really sticking with me is the concert trip they took to Michigan. It seems like this was supposed to be a fun bonding experience for everyone involved. I can't imagine the mix of excitement and nerves Melanie must have felt, meeting up with friends for that horrorcore concert. It was probably a chance for her to escape some of the everyday pressures she was dealing with, especially while working on her high school equivalency. The fact that this trip, which should have been about music and friends, prefaced such a tragic end is just gut-wrenching. I’m thinking about how her family must feel, knowing their daughter's last days contained this semblance of normal teen adventure before the nightmare unfolded. It’s such a reminder of the unpredictability of life and how quickly things can change. My thoughts are with her family and friends—they’ve had a lot to cope with. How does one ever process something so senseless?
