Hey everyone, I came across an interesting detail about James "Tommy" Stanley's case that I’d like to discuss. Does anyone else find it odd that when his Fiat was found, all his belongings were left inside, including personal items like photo albums? If Stanley was planning to start a new life in Florida, why wouldn’t he take at least some essentials or snapshots of his family? It feels like whatever prompted him to leave in a hurry was serious enough for him to abandon everything he owned without a second thought. Some say he was running from someone, and leaving behind personal memories like photos does make it seem that way. Could he have been planning to come back for his stuff, or was this more of a desperate escape? It adds another layer of mystery. Would love to hear what others think!
Has anyone else found it strange that James "Tommy" Stanley's family didn't report him missing until over 30 years after he disappeared? I get that they might have thought he was just trying to start a new life or was in some kind of trouble, but that amount of time is still unusual, right? It makes me wonder if they were afraid of someone—or something—impacting their decision to stay quiet for so long. Plus, the fact that his car was found with all his belongings inside, yet he never used his social security number again, adds to the mystery. What do you all think convinced the family to finally speak up in 2007? Maybe they hoped for some answers after all those years.
