I've been thinking a lot about how such a small detail, like an open door, could lead to such devastation. It’s terrifying to consider how random and senseless the act was. It breaks my heart for the Harvey family, who unknowingly became victims just because circumstance placed them in the wrong situation at the wrong time. Bryan and Kathryn had every reason to feel safe in their home on New Year’s Day, and it’s so unsettling to think how quickly that peace was shattered. Their open door should’ve been a symbol of hospitality and the joy of a sunny morning, yet it turned into an entryway for evil to creep in. I’m continually amazed by the courage of their family and friends over the years, tirelessly keeping the Harveys’ memory alive amidst such a chilling tragedy. It’s a reminder to all of us to cherish those we love, because life can change in an instant. I hope they have found peace, and I send all the strength in the world to those who continue to honor and remember them.
