I've been thinking a lot about Michael S. Pearson's story, especially after learning that he was an Army engineer. It's hard not to admire his dedication to serving his country at such a young age. Having grown up in Bolingbrook, Illinois, I imagine he had a tight-knit community and family who are still reeling from the loss. They must miss him dearly and treasure the memories of his time before joining the Army. I wonder how the engineering skills he was developing there might have influenced his future. It's such a loss not only to his loved ones but also to the broader Army community that he proudly served. Even amidst the tragedy, it’s clear he was someone who was deeply committed to his duty. My heart goes out to anyone who knew him. I hope they find solace in remembering his courage and the positive impact he had on those around him.
