In the heat of a July afternoon in West Philadelphia, on July 18, 2016, the life of 20-year-old Breon Wills, a Black male also known as Shawn Allen, was tragically cut short. Around 2:30 p.m., on the unit block of North Paxon Street, gunfire shattered the day's calm. When Philadelphia Police officers arrived at the scene, they found Wills lying on the sidewalk, having sustained gunshot wounds to his pelvis and leg.
