In the heat of a July afternoon in West Philadelphia, on July 18, 2016, the life of 20-year-old Breon Wills, a Black male also known as Shawn Allen, was tragically cut short. Around 2:30 p.m., on the unit block of North Paxon Street, gunfire shattered the day's calm. When Philadelphia Police officers arrived at the scene, they found Wills lying on the sidewalk, having sustained gunshot wounds to his pelvis and leg.
Emergency medical services rushed him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center
in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite their efforts, Breon Wills succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m. that same afternoon. Wills was a resident of the 5400 block of Walnut Street in Philadelphia.
In the days that followed, the motive for the shooting remained a mystery to investigators. The Philadelphia Police Department has continued to seek information from the public regarding the homicide of Breon Wills. As of the latest available information, his murder remains unsolved. No arrests have been made in the case, and authorities have not released any descriptions of potential suspects.
