I recently came across some old photos from last year's Highland Park parade. Looking at them just brings a mix of emotions. Seeing smiling faces and families gathered, all unaware of what was about to unfold, is just surreal. It puts into perspective how fleeting life can be. I've been thinking a lot about Jacki Sundheim. By all accounts, she was a pillar in the community, always giving her time and love to others. I’ve heard so many speak about her kindness and dedication, especially at the North Shore Congregation Israel. I can't even imagine the void her passing has left for those who knew her personally. The fact that she was taken away in such a senseless act is just beyond comprehension. It’s really important that we continue these discussions on public safety and strive for positive change. Hopefully, in doing so, we can honor Jacki's memory and work toward making sure tragedies like this don’t continue happening. Sending love and strength to her family and to everyone in Highland Park. ?
