Hi everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about Alban Leacock and what might have led up to the tragic events at the Hotel Belleclaire. It's so troubling to imagine someone who's able to keep such a calm demeanor one minute and then be so violently unhinged the next. Several people mentioned he had a history of erratic behavior and violent outbursts. It's baffling that warning signs like kicking a tenant in the head didn’t trigger more serious action. Mental health is so crucial in situations like this, and it makes me wonder if those around him felt unsure or even scared to report him sooner. This whole situation seems particularly chilling because of the building's unique mix of residents—a real melting pot of people trying to rebuild their lives. I’m heartened that the detective work that followed was swift and praised their quick response. Still, I can’t help but feel for Jacob Zimmer’s family and everyone else impacted by this. They trusted someone who should have been a part of their makeshift community and suffered dearly for it. It's a reminder for all of us to pay attention to unsettling behavior and the possible need for intervention before it's too late. Thinking of everyone who suffered that day. -Lexi123

Has anyone else been thinking about the atmosphere at the Hotel Belleclaire after the shootings? I can't even begin to imagine the fear and disbelief the residents felt seeing this happen right in their building. It's haunting to think about how Jacob Zimmer, a respected figure in the community, was lost in this senseless act. The hotel was supposed to be a place of refuge, especially for some of the most vulnerable people in the city, and now it has become a site of such chaos and tragedy. My thoughts are with Marilyn Zimmer and all those affected as they try to find a way to heal from this nightmare. What a difficult road ahead for everyone involved.
