I can't help but think about the role Katherine Koonce played in trying to protect her students during the tragic events at The Covenant School. I've read several accounts that suggest she may have confronted the shooter to safeguard the children. Her bravery is apparent, and it's deeply moving to think of someone willing to put themselves in harm’s way for the sake of their students. As someone who works in education, this really hits home. Katherine clearly had a profound impact on her community, and her actions in those moments are reflective of her lifelong commitment to her students' well-being. It's important to remember her for her dedication and the love she had for her school community. My thoughts are with her family and all those affected.
