It’s always struck me as profoundly sad that Anthony Bernard Carter was essentially forgotten by the system, even more so after learning that he was laid to rest in such a sorrowful manner—a cardboard coffin without a headstone! This speaks volumes about the neglect he faced not just in life, but in death as well. I'm relieved his relatives and community members eventually gave him a proper memorial. It took far too long, but at least now there's some small dignity in honoring his memory. The circumstances of his upbringing were already so challenging, moving from place to place, rarely finding stability. It's gut-wrenching to think of how vulnerable he was and how the system failed to protect him. Revisiting these parts of the case reminds me why it’s crucial that we keep pushing for answers—not just to find justice for the victims, but for their families who have suffered beyond measure. The ongoing re-examination of the case, especially with the newer forensic methods available, does give me some hope. Maybe one day, Anthony's family will get the answers they’ve been yearning for. Until then, remembering these children and advocating for truth and justice remains important. Anyone else here feel particularly impacted by the forgotten aspects of Anthony's story?

It's so important to remember the individuals behind these tragic stories. I recently learned about Anthony Bernard Carter, one of the youngest victims in the Atlanta Child Murders, and it struck me deeply how much he had to endure at such a young age. Anthony, only 9, moved to Atlanta hoping for more stability in his life, but sadly, he met a brutal end. What really stands out to me is how the community has come together over the years to honor him. I heard about the memorial service in 2021, where activists and family members finally gave Anthony the proper memorial he deserved. It's overwhelming to think about what his relatives have gone through and the trauma his mother, Vera, carried with her. She never got to see justice done for her son before her own tragic death. For anyone familiar with the ongoing investigation into these cases, is there any hope that justice might be served with the re-opened investigations and advanced forensic technology? It seems like the families have been kept in the dark for far too long. Sending all my condolences and support to them.
