I’ve been following the case of Christine Klebbe and it’s such a tragic reminder of what happens when the justice system fails to protect us. I was thinking about the role of media in this whole mess. Nathaniel White claimed that he was inspired by RoboCop when committing these heinous acts. It's unbelievable to think that a film could have influenced such violence, but it raises questions about how desensitization might play a part in similar cases. I’m not saying that movies are to blame, but should we be more cautious about the kind of media we consume, especially for those who might be impressionable or dealing with mental health issues? My heart goes out to Christine’s family and to the families of all the victims. Their pain must be unimaginable. These conversations are so hard but maybe shining a light on every angle can help prevent something like this from happening again.
