Edith's story really hits home when you learn about her career shift. Think about the courage it took for her to start over from accounting to med school—it's incredible! Edith was clearly someone who pursued her passions relentlessly, and it's beyond upsetting to know her life was cut short just before achieving her dream of becoming a doctor. As a fellow Texan, it makes me wonder how safe it really is to go jogging alone, even in familiar neighborhoods. Coral Eugene Watts was a true monster, targeting innocent women like Edith with no reason other than his twisted belief about their "eyes". The detail about his hands being slick with blood when he attacked Glenda Kirby is particularly chilling. It’s such a stark reminder of how random and senseless his attacks were. My heart goes out to Edith's family and friends who had to endure losing her amid such horrible circumstances. I hope they found some small peace knowing that Watt's confession eventually helped to close this bleak chapter.
