I recently came across an article about Shirley Small's tragic case, and I couldn't help but feel for her family and friends as I dug deeper into this. One detail that stuck out was how close she was to her home when the attack happened. It's chilling to think she was just moments away from safety. It makes you wonder about the areas we think of as safe and how a moment's decision to choose one path over another could change everything. It also brings up the unresolved questions around the neighborhood's security back then—were there enough streetlights, or any sort of neighborhood watch? My heart goes out to Shirley’s loved ones, and I hope they find some peace knowing that people still care and are seeking justice for her and the others.
