I've been following the Mary Horton Vail case closely, and something that's been bothering me is the scarf found in her mouth. I can't wrap my head around how this crucial detail didn't lead to more scrutiny back in 1962. Mary's family must have been devastated hearing Felix's initial story of an accidental drowning, only to later learn about these inconsistent details. The presence of the scarf seems to suggest something far more sinister than falling off a boat. It's hard to imagine how this was initially brushed aside as an accident. It makes me wonder about the pressure investigators faced back then or if there were other factors at play that kept the case from moving forward. I'm really hoping that Mary's family has found some solace in Felix finally being held accountable, even if it took far too long. It's so important to keep discussing these aspects to ensure justice continues to be served, not just for Mary, but for Sharon, Annette, and any other potential victims.
