I stumbled upon some old news clippings about Happy Howry's case and just wanted to share my thoughts about the students who found him. I can't even imagine what those kids went through when they discovered his body. It must have been incredibly traumatic. Just imagine being out for a carefree walk, chasing a roadrunner, and ending up in the middle of such a grim scene.
It's unsettling to know they had to carry that memory with them. I hope they received the support they needed afterward. And for all the friends and family of Mr. Howry, my heart goes out to them. It's so frustrating that despite all the efforts, justice seems so elusive after all these years. Anyone else find it odd that they haven't linked any evidence to a potential suspect? Maybe it's time for the case to get another fresh look with modern tech.
I stumbled upon the Happy Howry case while looking into other unsolved cases from Odessa in the '80s, and it's stuck with me. Just thinking about those poor kids who found him, chasing a roadrunner and then finding something so tragic. It must have been a real shock for them.
What stands out to me is the timing between Happy's disappearance and when his body was found. I know it was determined he’d been dead for several days, but I'm curious about what else was happening in the area during that time. Did anyone else in Big Spring notice anything unusual around the field where he was found? Local legends often hold some truths beneath the surface, and I wonder if any whispers in the community could shed some light on this.
The connection—or lack thereof—to Velma Nesset’s murder is also puzzling. It feels like more could have been looked into, even just to rule things out more definitively. I really feel for Happy's family and friends, who deserved to know what happened to him. If anyone has any insights or thoughts on this, I'd love to hear them. This man, and those who cared for him, deserve justice and answers.
