I've been digging into the case of Isabel Askew, and something that's been on my mind is the impact her murder had on her local community. From what I've gathered, she was the kind of neighbor who would always share a friendly smile or lend a helping hand. It's just devastating to think about the fear this must have instilled in her community, especially among the other elderly residents who thought they were safe in their own homes. I can only imagine how the residents must have felt knowing there was a predator targeting their neighborhood. It's enraging and saddening at the same time. I wonder if there were any community meetings or efforts made back then to increase neighborhood security. If anyone has lived in the area or has any insights on how the community handled this tragedy, I’d love to hear more. It must have been such a scary time for everyone involved.
