I remember reading about the tragic case of Shirley Mae Coolen, and I keep going back to the letter she sent to her ex-husband, Guy. It's interesting to think about what might have prompted her to reach out to him. Was it genuinely about reconciliation, or could there have been another reason? It's chilling to consider what happened after she left the restaurant. I also find it odd how the rain washed away forensic evidence at the scene. In some cases, nature seems to work against justice. I can't imagine how frustrating that must have been for her family and investigators at the time, especially knowing that key evidence was potentially lost. I feel for Shirley's little girl, left without her mother and having to grow up surrounded by this mystery. That kind of loss and uncertainty is something no child should have to endure. Keeping her family in mind as we hope for answers one day.
