Has anyone else looked into the background of Jesse Donald Sumner? It's chilling to think about his life prior to targeting Doreen and the other young women. From what I've gathered, he had a really troubling history with violence, and yet somehow he slipped through the cracks and ended up at Illinois State University. It’s deeply unsettling how someone with that kind of history could be that close to students, seemingly blending in and gathering trust. I'm genuinely curious about the parole system at that time, as it clearly suffered some major oversights. My heart goes out to Doreen’s family and friends; the nightmare they must have endured, having someone like him so near without even knowing. It's important we remember these cases, not only for justice but to push for better safeguards. Thoughts?

Has anyone else read about the chilling change of behavior in Jesse Sumner while he was at Illinois State University? It feels surreal and deeply unsettling to think how he masked his true nature while attending the same university as Doreen. From what I gather, he seemed to be a model parolee after being released, but was somehow able to deceive his officers and those around him. It’s horrifying to think that someone can hide such darkness beneath a veneer of normalcy. My heart goes out to Doreen’s family, and the other victims' families, who had to grapple with the knowledge that their daughters crossed paths with someone so dangerous. I continue to admire the persistence of law enforcement for catching him, even if justice came too late for Doreen and the others.
