In the early summer of 1998, a 36-year-old Japanese national named Hiroko Nemoto, a student at Michigan State University, traveled to Alaska, a trip from which she would never return. She was last seen in Anchorage, Alaska, around June 7th of that year. Nemoto was a senior majoring in psychology and was reportedly an excellent student.
