I've been thinking a lot about the neighborhood Wendell Hubbard lived in and how terrifying it must have been for the families in East Harlem back in the early '70s. Just six blocks away from Douglas Owens, another victim, Wendell's tragic death added to the fear that overshadowed the community. I can't imagine what it must have felt like for parents, knowing that their children couldn’t walk down the street without constant anxiety because of this serial killer. The media dubbed him "Charlie Chop-Off," which feels so cold considering the real pain and terror he inflicted on these families. It’s so important to remember Wendell and all the other young boys who were taken too soon. They weren't just victims; they were part of a community and had futures that were stolen. My heart goes out to the families who had to live through such horror and uncertainty—and who may never have seen justice for their lost loved ones.
