Has anyone else been following June Stott's case for a long time? I just can’t stop thinking about how tragic it is that she was among the first of Arthur Shawcross's victims during his horrifying spree in Rochester. It’s been bothering me how she disappeared on October 23 and wasn’t found until a whole month later. I can’t imagine the anxiety and devastation her family went through during that time, not knowing what happened to her. The delay in finding her must have compounded their suffering. It’s heartbreaking to see how her life was cut short so violently, and how the system’s failure let Shawcross back into society to continue his terrible acts. Sending a lot of love to those who knew and cared about June.

I'm recently revisiting the Genesee River Killer case and June Stott's story particularly stands out to me. It's profoundly disturbing to think about the fear and uncertainty her loved ones must have felt during that month when she was missing. I can't imagine the anguish of waiting, hoping for a different outcome but knowing, deep down, that something terrible had happened. That month-long delay before her body was discovered only added to the trauma for everyone who cared about her. It's a stark reminder of how important it is for missing persons cases to be handled with urgency and care. This tragedy not only highlights Shawcross's monstrous actions but also underscores the devastating impact on families and communities left searching for answers. Sending love and strength to everyone affected by these senseless acts. ?
