I've been following the Kerkowski and Fassett case, and something that really stands out to me is the involvement of Michael Kerkowski's supposed friend, Hugo Selenski. What's disturbing is how Selenski managed to manipulate Michael's parents at such a vulnerable time. The fact they trusted him enough to hand over $60,000 because they believed he was helping their son is just tragic. You'd expect a friend to be someone they could rely on for support, not exploit their desperation. It makes me think about how difficult it must be for the friends and family who had placed their faith in someone who was not only a friend but also ultimately involved in such a heinous act. That betrayal in such a tragic situation must add another layer of grief for those close to Michael and Tammy. It just goes to show how important it is to question loyalties and keep a close circle, especially in times of crisis. My heart truly goes out to everyone affected by this, especially the kids who lost their father and the family members who had to endure this ordeal while dealing with false hope.
