Teachers shape lives, and it's so tragic that her life was taken so brutally. I can't help but wonder about the impact she had on her students and how her presence is still missed at Morton Elementary. It's a sobering reminder of how senseless violence can rob the world of truly remarkable people. The fact that her murder went unsolved for years must have been an unbearable ordeal for her loved ones and the community. I'm continually grateful for advancements in forensic technology, which helped bring some level of justice, even if it was after such a long time. It makes me think about how vulnerable we all can be and how important it is to cherish the time we have with our loved ones.
