Hey everyone,
I came across some old newspaper articles about the tragic events at Glendale Adventist Medical Center and am just floored by the betrayal of trust there. Particularly, I'm thinking about the case of Jose Alfaro, the 82-year-old World War II vet. To survive the war and then to tragically lose his life in a place where he should have been safe just seems beyond cruel. ?
It's just chilling to think that his family initially believed his passing was due to his health conditions like pneumonia and emphysema. It must have been an absolute shock when information about the "Angel of Death" surfaced, and then to find out that it was someone who was supposed to be providing care. You can really feel the heartbreak in Mrs. Alfaro's words when she talks about how his life was unjustly taken.
The actions of Efren Saldivar shake the very foundation of trust we place in healthcare workers. It's not just about betraying laws, but it’s betraying the very essence of humanity. I'm relieved to know justice was served with the life sentences, but nothing can truly compensate for Jose Alfaro’s loss. My thoughts are with his family; sending them all the strength and support in the world.
Has anyone else read different stories or interviews about the family's experience? It really brings to light how these events scar not just families but entire communities.
Stay safe and take care of each other.

Does anyone else find it haunting how everything initially seemed routine with Jose Alfaro's passing? I can't imagine the rollercoaster his family went through, from accepting his death as a natural result of health issues to discovering he was a victim of such a horrific crime. It’s truly unnerving to think someone they trusted with his care could be responsible. How do people go back to trusting medical professionals after something like this? I hope his family finds peace, knowing justice was served in some form.
